The Role 

Finding a mental health provider and enabling greater collaboration with physical healthcare providers is far too hard. With the largest network of more than 237k outpatient solo and small group mental health practitioners, SimplePractice is looking for a highly passionate and experienced Head of Payer and Employer Partnerships responsible for developing and executing a strategy to expand SimplePractice’s offering to serve this important segment within the healthcare value chain.  SimplePractice is aggressively building AI enabled software solutions to help digitally connect our rapidly growing base of mental health practitioners to create multi-sided value to both practitioners and Health Plans/Employers and their members. 

We are looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented individual that has expertise consulting, advising and selling innovative solutions into Health Plans, self-insured employers and health systems. The successful candidate will have deep familiarity across the landscape  of digital health, payer (commercial and medicare), virtual care and Value-Based Care (VBC). Successful individuals will bring with them an existing network of relationships and track record of selling into Health Plans and Employer markets. Reporting to the CEO, this is a highly visible role leading an incredibly exciting new business offering for SimplePractice.

Responsibilities:

  • Play key leadership role within SimplePractice to define and build highly innovative software solutions to enable rapid expansion within the Health Plan and Employer segments 
  • Build and cultivate influential strong relationships with senior executives and key decision makers with targeted customers
  • Innovate to create differentiated pricing models that enable both Health Plan/Employer as well as Mental Health provider to easily capture value from our offerings
  • Guide and partner with Product and Engineering teams to rapidly test and iterate to evolve product offering to these segments while creating dual-sided value for solo and small group mental health practitioners
  • Identify and build strategic relationships with other key “partners” (e.g. care navigation, referral partners, interoperability data, etc.) to accelerate offering and impact
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to create compelling sales collateral, key account and events strategies to expand pipeline and sustain relationships
  • Set ambitious growth targets – Accountable for setting quarterly and annual sales targets and end-to-end sales cycle + product implementation
  • Build out business development and partnerships team to support rapid expansion

Requirements: 

  • 10+ years experience advising and leading teams to implement innovative digital health, virtual and/or value-based care programs
  • Direct c-suite relationships advising and selling to Health Plans and Large Employer markets. Experience and gravitas to handle end-to-end sales cycle.
  • Track record of closing multi-year technology and innovative tech-enabled deals
  • Highly motivated and passionate to change the way mental health is delivered and paid for while championing independent practitioners
  • Prior  or current management consulting experience (Bain, McKinsey, BCG, Advisory Board) with healthcare IT/payor focused clients
  • Highly analytical with ability to lead pricing structuring, negotiations and innovative partnerships
  • Experience in software/HCIT with proven track record of collaborating to make huge impact with Product, Engineering and implementation functions
  • AI forward thinking mindset. 
  • Bachelors level degree with MBA a plus, but not required
  • SimplePractice is HQ in Santa Monica but operates as a fully remote company.

Base Compensation Range

$210,000 - $263,000 annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
