About the Role

Dandy is hiring an experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in scaling the strategic sourcing operations at Dandy. You’ll be able to work with a global set of internal stakeholders and influence strategic supply chain decisions to improve our customer’s experience with Dandy. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for building the foundations of our supplier management processes with the focus of improving product quality, turnaround time, cost and customer experience through innovative investments in materials, hardware and equipment. This role will be focused on identifying sourcing opportunities, researching and implementing strategic supply chain solutions, and project managing critical implementations across the organization.  If you’re looking to disrupt the dental lab industry status quo and take lead in building and scaling the most innovative dental lab in the country, this is the right place for you!


What You'll Do

Supplier Management:

  • Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure vendors meet business needs at the lowest total delivered cost.

  • Maintain and manage strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term performance and compliance.

  • Drive vendor compliance through scorecarding, setting clear expectations, and, if necessary, offboarding underperforming vendors according to defined vetting standards.

Cost Savings & Negotiations:

  • Source new products and onboard vendors while driving cost-saving initiatives.

  • Conduct price negotiations, RFPs, and implement vendor contracts with clear terms and conditions.

Project Management:

  • Lead procurement initiatives and programs from start to finish, managing cross-functional projects with upstream and downstream departments.

  • Build consensus and drive alignment among stakeholders in support of sourcing, implementation, and compliance activities.

  • Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities throughout project lifecycles to positively impact business operations.

  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation and timely delivery.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with upstream demand planning partners on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) forecasts to inform price negotiations and assess supply chain risks.

  • Work closely with R&D and manufacturing during the product testing phase to ensure procurement needs align with development and production timelines.

  • Be the primary cross-functional partner responsible for procurement, operations, and materials management for new or changing materials and suppliers.

Innovation & Problem Solving:

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve materials, workflows, processes, and technology, optimizing quality, scale, and efficiency for the product lines and manufacturing operations.

  • Employ research, partnerships, and critical thinking to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing to bring outsourced milling processes in-house, ensuring better control and cost efficiency.

Travel Requirements:

  • This role requires travel 1-2 times per month for both external and internal meetings to support the success of the product line and supplier relationships.


What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing/procurement, vendor management, operations

  • 2+ years of project management experience

  • Proven ability and experience in executing procurement programs, successful research and negotiations, vendor relationship management including contracting, implementation, and migration processes

  • Demonstrated ability to model various business scenarios and analyze resulting costs, impacts, risks, and benefits to inform and recommend business solutions

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and coordinating the efforts of a diverse range of stakeholders inclusive, but not limited to, R&D, S&OP, operations, manufacturing, engineering, accounting/finance, legal/compliance, and project management personnel

  • Experience using data to calculate project level ROIs and drive strategic decision making

  • Strong self-motivation, self-direction, excellent communication skills and ability to work cross functionally to push improvement initiatives to completion

  • Passion for breaking down complex problems into smaller manageable steps in order to help team members effectively work through the ambiguity

  • Very high attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly


Bonus Points For

  • Advanced working knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel is a plus

  • Loving to negotiate and taking personal responsibility to save every dollar possible

  • Experience in data sets including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Looker, Salesforce, and SQL

Compensation Range: $95K - $105K
